interests
"...like two softened shoes."
This is one of D's favorite songs by The Weepies. She shared this song with me on our way back from Central Market, an hour or so after my first little car accident.
Other cool things D showed me:
the French cheeses (the wonderful stink!), among the many other wonders, at Central Market, and
Art Project by Google. Fricking amazing (and kind of disconcerting).
So cool. It's quite a simple thought, but D and I talked about how interests are nothing meaningful in and of themselves. Interests are meaningful only because they help us connect to people, as well as inspire adoration for the Creator.
So yay for art. Yay for music. Yay for cheese. Yay for adding favorite books and music and movies on Facebook, in hopes of finding opportunities to connect to people you know at a very shallow level.
And speaking of opportunity to connect to others, it doesn't seem so bad to cry in front of people anymore. In spite of the initial awkwardness and embarrassment, by His grace it's allowed for some meaningful moments with people this week that might not have happened if I were better at controlling the whole sniffling-hiccuping thing. Praise God that I fail miserably at that?

Ooh I remember Art Project. It was discussed in a TED talk. Ideas in TED talks seldom become reality. This is cool.
