after a two-hour skype conversation with my parents, we decided that this summer is not the best time for me to go to costa rica.
i am little sad, but not really because it makes sense.
missions (in the developing world, that is) will have to wait until after i graduate, God willing. whether it's right after senior year or sometime in the more distant future.
but i think this was a good process, both for me and for my parents. i cried today when i read my mom and dad's emails saying that money isn't everything and they would be willing to support me, as much as I know they didn't like the idea of me serving in costa rica and as much as they have always been skeptical about me getting super involved in ministry, whether it was worship team in the fourth grade or missions in the fifteenth grade.
i am learning that i do have a big say in the relationships i have and make.
maybe that's obvious to you, but i feel like it's something i'm just learning.
ahhhhh. i hope you get to do this in the future hannah!
ReplyDelete<3 always here for you if you need to talk or someone to just drink tea with.
ReplyDeleteAnd it's true, Costa Rica will always be there. Who knows, maybe you'll end up doing something crazy amazing instead too~
God bless.
